Jarek & Iwona Pietrzak
Way of Life Ministry
Poznan, Poland
Bill met Jarek in 2015 at the European Leadership Forum in Wisla, Poland. Bill was leading a year-long discipleship mentoring group. He and Jarek became fast friends as well as their wives, Paula and Iwonka.
Jarek and Iwona planted King David School in Poznan, Poland over 10 years ago when they saw the need for Christian education. Once the school was well established as one of the highest academic performing in Poland, Jarek stepped down as headmaster. This decision allowed him to address the growing need for spiritual maturity in the church they planted, Way of Life Fellowship. He knew a disciple-making strategy was needed for people to grow in spiritual maturity.
Their disciple-making strategy begins with addressing family relationship skills. Poland’s divorce rate is one of the highest in the global community. Once these relationships are nurtured, home Bible studies are encouraged, and many come to a saving relationship with Jesus. Through foundational Scriptures and spiritual disciplines, their faith begins to grow and deepen. They are then placed in three-year discipleship groups. These groups grow into a planted church in the community. Today this discipleship model has produced 14 disciple groups in four villages with fourth-generation disciples of Jesus. (2 Timothy 2:2). Their vision for Way of Life is 20 church plants within 60 kilometers of Poznan, Poland.
